What distinguishes an anti-wrinkle product from one that is not?

Cosa distingue un prodotto antirughe da un prodotto che non lo è?

"Countering the signs of time that form on our face, after a certain age, becomes a real battle."
There are many anti-aging products on the market that can be useful, along with other precautions, to help our face be more elastic and less marked by these imperfections.

"No cosmetic, no matter how formidable, can ever completely eliminate the signs of aging due to the natural loss of tone that occurs over time."
However, it is possible to aspire to a product that can provide good hydration, improve elasticity, and ensure a better appearance for our face.

But what distinguishes an anti-wrinkle product from all other products?

In general, the difference between a simple moisturizing face cream and an anti-aging product lies in the presence of so-called "active ingredients," named for their ability to combat skin aging.
Most of them have antioxidant activity, which is essential because it stimulates the cellular turnover of the epidermis and inhibits collagen degradation.

But the real difference in the effectiveness of an anti-wrinkle cream is made by the entirety of its composition, not the single ingredient.
Here is a list of ingredients and substances that make an anti-wrinkle cream effective.

Vitamin A

"It is widely used in anti-aging cosmetics due to its ability to contribute to cellular regeneration. In recent years, concerns have been raised about the use of retinoids in cosmetics, due to their photosensitizing and irritating effects, which is why it is better to choose cosmetics that use it in combination with Vitamin E."

Vitamin E

It is often paired with vitamin A, as mentioned earlier, because it can counteract its sensitizing effect. In addition to having pronounced antioxidant properties, as it prevents oxidative damage to cell membranes by stabilizing them, it also has emollient, soothing, and anti-redness properties, making it perfect for all skin types, but particularly for delicate and sensitive skin.

Coenzyme Q10

The Coenzyme Q10 molecule has the ability to counteract oxidative stress caused by free radicals, which damage the body's cells, reducing their efficiency and functionality. It is well known that skin aging is caused by free radicals and the oxidation they generate, leading to imperfections such as wrinkles and skin spots. An additional benefit of this molecule is certainly the prevention against damage from UV rays, one of the primary factors of skin aging that increases the production of free radicals.

Hyaluronic acid

It is a protein molecule naturally present in our dermis. Micrometric hyaluronic acid instantly hydrates and makes the skin plumper, smoothing out dehydration wrinkles. In the long term, hyaluronic acid is a cellular vehicle that stimulates cell synthesis to renew and support the action of hyaluronic acid in the epidermis naturally. The application of a serum, a day cream the Night containing hyaluronic acid, starting from the age of 30 onwards, helps to counteract the appearance of small expression wrinkles.

The anti-wrinkle face creams available on the market are very many.
The important thing is to choose the ideal cream for your skin; the biggest risk, in fact, is buying heavy and excessively thick creams. In this case, your skin will suffocate instead of breathing. If you choose a nighttime application of the anti-wrinkle cream, make sure that the formula allows the skin to regenerate and not just to rest!
