Remedies for frizzy hair

Rimedi per capelli crespi

Frizzy hair can be very irritating because managing it is often very tiring, and the discomfort associated with the messy look typical of frizzy hair can even ruin the spirit with which we face our days, especially the important ones when we want to look impeccable.

So what can you do to get rid of frizz once and for all? Getting away from the heat of the hairdryer and straighteners is not the only path to take. In this article, we will discover together other simple tips to implement for visibly healthier and shinier hair.

Why do I have frizzy hair?

Frizzy hair is caused by a lack of hydration in the hair. When this triggering factor occurs, the hair "opens up," causing the classic little clouds or tufts of hair that frame the face, resulting in a rather annoying effect. That’s why the true solution to the frizz problem is only one: hydration.

In the next paragraphs, we will see how to ensure hydration for the hair both while we are in the shower and afterwards.

The tips for the shower

High water temperatures can cause dehydration. It is therefore recommended to maintain average temperatures that do not dry out the hair. However, even at average temperatures, the hair will inevitably tend to open its cuticles during shampooing. For this reason, once cleansing is complete, before leaving the shower, it is advisable to try to close the cuticles by using an acidic rinse, for example through a solution made of water and vinegar.

The styling tips

To avoid drying out the hair, one must commit to reducing the drying time. Often, in fact, we tend to keep the hairdryer fixed on one part of the hair for a long time. The result will obviously be a much drier and more brittle mane. To minimize the need for a hairdryer, one can opt for a turban made with a microfiber towel, to be kept on the head for half an hour before proceeding with the drying. This way, the towel will absorb the large amount of excess water, and with the hairdryer, we will only finish the drying process, subjecting the hair to just a few minutes of heating.

As for the use of straighteners and curling irons, it is always advisable to reduce their use. However, if one decides to use them anyway, it is always good to use a heat protection spray. There are several available on the market, the important thing is to remember to use it regularly, whenever you expose your hair to heat sources.

The tips after the shower

As we have seen, using a heat protectant spray is essential to avoid exposing the hair too much to the risk of dehydration, but that's not all. To take care of hair that frizzes easily, it is necessary to apply a leave-in product that helps maintain closed cuticles throughout the day. One can opt for serum solutions or moisturizing creams that discipline the hair and make it super shiny with a silky effect.
