Remedies for frizzy hair

Rimedi per capelli crespi

Frizzy hair can be very irritating because its management is often very tiring and frequently the feeling of discomfort associated with messy hair typical of frizzy hair can even ruin the spirit with which we face the days, especially the important ones in which we would like to always be impeccable.

So what can you do to get rid of frizz once and for all? Freeing yourself from the heat of the hairdryer and straighteners is not the only way to go. In this article we discover together other simple tips to put into practice for visibly healthier and shinier hair.

Why do I have frizzy hair?

Frizzy hair is caused by a lack of hydration in the hair. When this triggering factor occurs, the hair "opens" causing the classic clouds or bushes of hair that surround the face with a rather annoying result. This is why the real solution to the frizzy hair problem is only one: hydration.

In the next paragraphs we will see how to guarantee hydration to the hair both when we are in the shower and afterwards.

Shower tips

Water temperatures that are too high can cause dehydration. It is therefore recommended to maintain average temperatures that do not dry out the hair. Even in the case of average temperatures, however, the hair will inevitably tend to open its cuticles during shampooing. For this reason, once cleansing has been completed, before getting out of the shower, it is recommended to try to close the cuticles using an acid rinse, for example through a solution composed of water and vinegar.

Styling tips

To avoid drying out your hair, you must make an effort to reduce drying time. In fact, we often tend to keep the hair dryer fixed on one part of the hair for a long time. The result will obviously be much drier and brittle hair. To ensure that the need for a hairdryer is reduced to a minimum, you can opt for a turban made with a microfibre towel, to be kept on your head for half an hour before proceeding with drying. In this way the towel will absorb the large quantity of excess water and with the hairdryer we will only complete the drying operation by subjecting the hair to a few minutes of heating.

As regards the use of straighteners and curling irons, once again it is always recommended to reduce their use. However, if you decide to use them anyway, it is always a good idea to use a thermal spray, which protects you from heat. There are several on the market, the important thing is to remember to use it regularly, whenever you subject your hair to heat sources.

Advice after the shower

As we have seen, using a heat-protecting spray is essential to avoid exposing your hair too much to the risk of dehydration, but that's not all. To take care of hair that frizzes easily, you need to apply a leave-in product that helps keep cuticles closed throughout the day. You can opt for serum solutions or moisturizing creams that discipline the hair and make it super shiny with a silky effect.
